Boise Fire Department Rescues Three from Elevator

On Thursday evening, the Boise Fire Department responded to an elevator rescue in downtown Boise. At approximately 8 p.m., Engine 5, Ladder 5, Heavy Rescue 7, and Battalion Chief 1 arrived at the scene, where three individuals were trapped in an elevator located in a blind shaft.
The elevator was stalled between the first and third floors, with no access available at the second floor level. To ensure safety, the Tech Rescue Team securely blocked the elevator from moving by using special blocks bolted to the rails. Team members, equipped with harnesses, then climbed down to the top of the elevator car and safely extracted the trapped individuals through the top hatch. The subjects were secured with harnesses and ropes during the extraction process.
