Boise Fire Department extinguishes grass fire caused by sparking wires
Reviewed by Katherine Murphy / BoiseLocal.org
The Boise Fire Department responded to a grass fire on the side of E Warm Springs Mesa Ave in Boise last night. Engine 1, Engine 15, and BC 1 worked to extinguish the fire. A Code Red notification was sent to neighbors in the area, informing them of the fire and that the road would be closed for 45 minutes. The cause of the fire was determined to be sparking wires from a blown transformer. Idaho Power was called to repair the damage and restore power. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. It is recommended for residents to sign up for Code Red alerts, a system utilized by Ada County to notify people in the community of emergencies such as wildfires, evacuations, criminal activities, floods, and missing person cases. Residents can sign up for Code Red alerts at https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BF01DC4DD213?isMobile=true.
