Boise Police decrease vehicle burglaries with targeted efforts.
by / BoiseLocal.org
The Boise Police Department in Idaho saw a rise in vehicle burglaries earlier this year, with firearms frequently being stolen. They launched an investigation and arrested a group of juveniles involved in various crimes, including assaults, shootings, and vandalism, aside from vehicle burglaries. Following these targeted efforts, there has been a significant drop in vehicle burglaries.
Lieutenant Corey Smith commended the officers for recognizing the community's issues and taking action to address the criminal activities. He emphasized the importance of locking car doors and safeguarding valuable items, especially firearms. During the summer, trailheads are particularly vulnerable to car burglaries, and people are reminded to secure their vehicles, keep valuables out of sight, and take them along when leaving.
